SooYoung Promises Winks and Delivers!

Girls’ Generation(SNSD) triumphed onKBS2TV’sMusic Bankon February 5th with their latest chart-topping single,Oh!from their second official album. Not only was this a fantastic victory for the girls and theirSones(fanclub), but the fans had more to celebrate whenSooyounggave them threespecial winks!

You’re probably either wondering what’s so special about these winks, or  arguing that all of Sooyoung’s winks are always ’spectacular and magical’ and nothing’s new. Either way, you’d have a point. I’m here to tell you that these winks were not only adorable, but they carried a meaning: they werepromised.

Before the show, fans requested “If SNSD wins first place forMusic BankK-Chart, please wink three times” on a community site. And what do you know, theshikshinobliged, making Sones smile all around the world! It’s always nice to see celebrities interacting and being kind to their fans, and Sooyoung has definitely proved herself to be appreciative for all the love the nine girls receive.

Delighted fans commented that “This is great that she really did what the fans asked” and “There’s nothing else to say other than they are truly the best.Congratulations on winning!”

After they toppedMusic Bank’sK-Chart, SNSD displayed their gratitude by saying “We thank the SM family and the Sones who [are] always standing next to us and supporting us” in their acceptance speech.

SNSD and Sones truly have a loving relationship.

Kangta is Finally Discharged (as a Fanboy)!

FormerH.O.T.singerKangtahas been released from the South Korean Army following two years of service to his country. On February 19th, at 8:57AM,Kangtawas released to a round of applause, and he looked healthier than he did before his enlistment.Kangtawas met with fans and fellow servicemen upon his departure and spoke to the audience .

“I am realizing once again just how big the love of my fans is and just how happy I am to be in front of the camera once more,” saidKangta. He also revealed with a bright smile that he was given strength and determination in the army by the nation’s girl groups.

SNSDonce visited me in the army. However, when they came, my entire base went crazy. After that, I couldn’t get myself to ask them to come visit me again. There was also a time when I askedSNSD, through their manger, if they could send pictures to my unit. The response I got from my unit was really good!

In the army, I was a fan of girl groups just like everyone else. Girl groups became a source of energy for army life, so I’m very thankful to them. When I’m discharged, I’d like to be a helpful sunbae to them.

And I’m sorry to everyone else who is being honorably discharged today as well for the commotion. However, just as I worked hard in the army, I will work hard to become a better celebrity after my departure. Army life was a huge help to my own life, and I will work hard in order to try and repay the fans who sent me messages and gave me strength while I was in the army.

Kangta’sparents said, as they lovingly and proudly stroked their son’s face, “We’re happy and satisfied thatKangtahas been discharged strong and healthy and that he has done his duty. His face looks so much healthier!“

Kangtaadded, “Even though I sometimes got really frustrated whenever I got to go home while in the army, I thank my parents for taking all my frustration.”
